Community guidelines
Last updated October 9, 2026
Nanny works because families, caregivers and centers can trust what they read and who they talk to. These guidelines apply to profiles, messages, reviews, Circles posts and everything else you share.
Be who you say you are
- Use your real name and your own photos. One account per person.
- Describe your experience, rates and availability honestly.
- Posts in Circles carry your first name and neighborhood. Anonymous posting is not available.
Protect kids' privacy
- Do not post photos of other people's children, or kids' full names, schools or addresses.
- Share photos of a child only with that child's family, through the shift timeline.
- Do not post photos of caregivers in Circles.
Talk about experiences the right way
- Reviews are for completed, paid bookings. Be specific and fair: punctuality, communication, how the kids did, and whether you would book again.
- Do not post about a named person's conduct in Circles. If you have a concern, report it privately and our Trust and Safety team will look at it.
- Do not post about people who are not on Nanny.
- Recommend only caregivers who have opted in to being recommended.
Be respectful and fair
- No harassment, threats, hate or sexual content.
- Do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age or any other protected trait.
- Keep payment and scheduling for Nanny bookings in the app. Never ask for gift cards or send overpayments.
Cameras
If you use a camera, tell your caregiver. Record video in common areas only, no audio where everyone must consent, and never in a bathroom or a live-in caregiver's room.
Reporting
Every profile, message, review and post has Report and Block. Reports go privately to our Trust and Safety team and the person is not told who reported them. Urgent reports, such as a child's safety or a threat, pause the account while a person reviews it. We remove non-consensual intimate images within 48 hours of a valid request. You can also email safety@joinnanny.com.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 911. For suspected child abuse, call Childhelp at 1-800-422-4453. For a possible poisoning, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.
What happens when guidelines are broken
Depending on what happened, we may remove content, warn you, limit features, pause your account during a review, or close it. We keep a record of each decision and the reason. Serious harm to a child is reported to the authorities.
These guidelines sit alongside our terms of service and privacy policy.
